Preparation for Nepal
After my last trip to Kailash Mansarovar on June, I had again decide to go for a long trip. But this time again my hubby was not ready to go as he did not has lots of leaves. So I decided to go solo.
I googled for and found Nepal. It is a traveler's paradise which is a combo pack of Himalayan views, golden temples. The low jungle plains of Terai is the home of the royal Bengal tiger and the greater one-horned rhino and the ragged landscape culminates in Sagarmatha, Goddess Mother of the World, the gigantic Mount Everest. During my research, I also found that 1 Nepal currency is equivalent to 1.6 Indian currency. So it must be my budget trip. I decided this time my destination is Nepal.
In office when I asked one of my colleague, Vaishali regarding this, she agreed and told me she would like to join with her best friend Amit. Though I knew very little about them. However, I took the chance to be part of this group as it would be a new experience for me to know less known people.
At first, we decided to go by road. But the time and cost calculation showed us the airfare and bus fare along with time and food cost are approx the same. So either save time over money or vice versa. We decided to save time. So we booked our flight tickets November end. We had only one month for preparation.
I searched approximately every nook and corner of the Internet and tried to note down every detail. I came to know that Rs. 10k (Indian currency) excluding flight was enough for 10 days in Nepal. As I liked to follow a shoe-string budget, So I decided to minimise the cost of transport & lodging. I preferred to spend money on food as it gives the local taste.
In facebook & Quera I added multiple questions regarding the transport and the weather. As December is the winter in Nepal where we expected chilly cold weather. So I was quite concerned about our clothes. Also, Nepal is not our own country, so we must be prepared for any unseen situation.
