2nd July 2018: Today I woke up approx 6.00am (CST). Though I woke up at 4:00 am for a pee. It was pitch dark outside. I went to the bathroom with Shruti. She told me there was either the open bathroom or some primitive type. I am a little bit shaky about the toilet. But there was no option. So choose the open bathroom option.😓
The morning was cloudy. It was drizzling also. It was quite dark. As per our previous night request, the electricity was 'On'. After the morning tea, we were instructed to proceed further especially those who did not opt pony. Dharampal told me to proceed as he would follow me. I knew he could walk more speed & I felt in my previous trekking that it was really tough to slow down your speed to give company someone specially in mountains. So I left my bag under his custody & continued to walk. There was a small bridge and then started the ascend.
First, few km was quite easy, just like walking in the garden obviously hilly garden. I found some bushes here and there. But then the assent started. In the meantime, Dharampal Ji joined me. Like Lipulekh pass, I was feeling exhausted & after 200-300mtr, started to take a stop. Ashok Radia Ji (Full name is ASHOKKUMAR RANCHHODDAS RADIA who performed 22times yatra) with Sharad Ji (SHARADCHANDRA CHANDULAL VAYEDA) crossed me with the usual smiling face "Dipa ji age chalo..hum tumare piche hain". But this motivation did not affecred me a lot. I was able to walk only a few meters. Then I felt I was the last one in the group. Suraj & Shova came as the last member of our group. Shova gave me a chocolate, the size was quite large, most probably Chinese chocolate, different test & given the company. She, Suraj & Dharampal Ji was with me. Everyone told me that the destination was not so far.
I just counted every step & took 1 min halt after every 10 steps. There was not any specified path only large size of boulders along with loose pebbles. Pilgrimes of different groups mainly chinese people also followed me & crossed me. I did not find any of our co-yatries. Suraj holds my hand & told me to walk steadily. Destinition was not so far. As usual, I gave him a positive node with a smiling face.
Suddenly I felt that there was no assent.it was a planned land though lots of boulders were there along with a lot of prayer flags. I found that I was at the top of that rocky land. Ahhh!!! It is Dolma pass. I read a lot about it & now I was there!!!
Dharampal Ji caught hold my hand as the road was slippery. It did not match the definition of 'Road'. It was a muddy space. you can put your feet side by side & then the large size of boulders were standing on both sides of the passage, not ready to give a small space in the same attitude. “Bina yudh nahi dibo suchagra medini” (without war I will not part with a particle of land). Within 2 mints the plain was ended & I saw a lake of emerald green color. I read from internet that it must be Gauri Kund & understood I have crossed Dolma pass.
It was drizzling. So I just saw the lake for a few seconds. Dharampal Ji told me to go quickly, as there was no rain shelter. Now the road was totally descending. First few meters was easy. Then due to mud, it was slippery. Wherever I put my leg, it slipped. Dharampal Ji took my walking stick & asked me to hold his hand tightly & we started to get down.
After a few meters, we found a large glacier, laying across our way. There was no way to by-pass it. As usual, I put my leg & dharammmmmm!! Thanked God as Dharampal Ji held my hand tightly, otherwise, I did not know what would be my destination. Anyway with the help of Dharampal Ji I came down from the hilly area. He asked me to take rest in a nearby shop where tea, coffee & snacks were available.
When I reached there, I found Suraj & his team was also there. Dharampal Ji told me to take the juice that was given to us yesterday along with cuppa noodles. I was too much exhausted to open the noodles packet. He helped me to open the cup & put some hot water. He offered me to take tea, but I refused. There were some local men who went to some local village.
After finishing the noodles I got back my energy. Spending approx half an hour there I started to walk again. It was a valley with the muddy road. Though it was windy, due to bright sunshine didn't feel the chillness. Dharampal Ji had shown me the Ganesh Parvat. After one hour the sky turned to be cloudy. So I increased my speed as our camp was quite far. Dharampal Ji met some of his teammates. So he was quite ahead of me. As the road was plain, I did not need any help from him. So I asked him to take his speed.
After two and half hour of walking our campsite was visible. I also found some of our co-yatris. Our campsite was in the valley. To reach the valley we needed to go down from the hilly path. This terrain was quite easy But it was drizzling. So I tried to walk quickly.
When I reached the campsite, I noticed that there was no space in the room where Soma & Enakshi took the shelter. It hurt me. But I was too tired to think about that. I found an empty room. I just went into the room, found an empty bed at the far end & seated there. Dharampal Ji put my bags beside my bed and he served me a cup of tea. I was too tired that Just took the tea & went inside the blanket. It was approx 7:30pm. After sometime Enakshi & Shruti came to call me. But this time I had no interest to go with them. I claimed that I would like to stay there. After some time I noticed through my sleepy eyes that Induben & Bhartiben with their husband took shelter there. Actually, they wanted a private room for them as a family. But as the room was 5 bedroom. So they agreed to stay with me or you can say allow me to stay with them. But at that time I was so stubborn that if they protested to allow me I would create a chaos.
I took the soup & dinner as usual time. I did not care to go to others' room decided from next time I would not take care of anyone. I just went to my bed & cozy blanket to enjoy the warmth. It was raining outside.
