Day 1 – Delhi Heart & Lung Institute

Today, 17th June, I woke up at 5am. I took DTH bus 405 from Badarpur bus stand. I reached DHLI(Delhi Heart & Lung Institute) at about 8:30am. I called Rajesh. He told me though there is no chance of selection but wait for some time. I entered the DHLI reception. I found lots of people are there waiting for their turn.

I asked the lady named by Anu, who seems to the coordinator. I told her “my name is in the 7th batch waiting list. Is there any option to get a chance?” She asked me to wait till the confirm list ending. If there will be any chance she will inform me.

After an hour I came to know confirm list is completed & she asked me to submit the passport & fill the medical test form. There I meet 3 aged people Kalra Ji & Mehta Ji from Faridabad. I did not ask for their full name.

I meet there Rajesh by face to face & he confirmed to me that he will do his best to get the visa for the 3rd batch. I thanked him from bottom of my heart. They asked to submit Rs. 2400/ as Visa cost & Rs. 3100/- for the medical test. For the medical test, any type of debit card was accepted along with cash.

After Half an hour, Anu asked me to go for blood & urine test.

I am not very comfortable with the blood test. I have an unknown fear of needle & syringe. But have no option to skip the test.

After that, one person asked us to take our breakfast. There were options for breakfast also:
  1. Idli
  2. Aloo paratha &
  3. Samosa
I have opted the Aloo paratha & coffee.

After breakfast, they asked to continue the test. They have done a different test like ECG, CMO, PFT & TMT. In case of failed TMT, the patient has to pay Rs.1100/- & need to check some extra test. After the lunch, only PFT & PMT was done & informed us that they will send the report to ITBP medical hospital. Thank God!! I have passed all the test.

At DHLI, I met Mr. Dewan Ram, very kind-hearted & helpful person from KMVN who confirmed me to carry tomorrow:
        (i) Indemnity Bond executed on a non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.100 (or as applicable locally) and authenticated by a First Class Magistrate, or Notary Public.
(ii) Undertaking for evacuation by helicopter in case of emergency.
(iii) Consent Form for cremation of mortal remains on the Chinese side in case of death there.

Till now I was not very sure of my confirmation. Everything was done at about 4:00pm.
